It’s been almost a year-and-a-half since American Experiment exclusively published the 54-minute audio recording of that infamous December 2021 meeting between state Attorney General Keith Ellison and a group associated with the Feeding Our Future fraudulent nonprofit.

You will recall that the week after that Dec. ’21 meeting, Ellison held a fundraiser where he raised campaign cash from Feeding Our Future-linked individuals.

We published the tape (April ’25) soon after the end of the courtroom trial involving leading scandal figures Aimee Bock and Salim Said (Defendant Nos. 1 and 3). Bock, of course, was the founder and CEO of the Feeding Our Future nonprofit, after which the scandal is named. Said was an owner of the now-closed Safari Restaurant in south Minneapolis.

Both were convicted in the jury trial on all counts.

The tape was a never-shown exhibit in the case. The tape sparked a series of oversight hearings at the state legislature and before the U.S. House and Senate.

Here’s a timeline to keep things straight:

  • Nov. 20, 2020–Feeding Our Future sues State of MN
  • Nov. 23, 2020–Ellison files appearance as State’s lawyer
  • April 28, 2021–First media report of free-food fraud
  • Dec. 11, 2021–Ellison/Feeding Our Future meeting in Edina
  • Dec. 20, 2021–Ellison/Feeding Our Future campaign fundraiser
  • Jan. 20, 2022–FBI raids on Feeding Our Future offices
  • Sept. 2022–First batches of Feeding Our Future indictments
  • Jan. 24, 2024–Ikram Mohamed (Def. No. 63) indicted
  • Dec. 3, 2024–Ellison sues Gar Gaar Family Services
  • March 19, 2025–Bock/Said trial ends
  • April 9, 2025–Ellison/FOF tape published
  • April 28, 2025–Ellison testifies before MN House committee
  • Feb. 12, 2026–Ellison testifies before U.S. Senate committee
  • March 4, 2026–Ellison testifies before U.S. House committee

This might be a good time to revisit that series of posts and catch up on the figures involved:

Ellison, of course, is running this November for a third term as Minnesota Attorney General. Bock was sentenced to nearly 42 years in federal prison. She was not present at the Dec. 11, 2021 meeting.

Of the voices heard on the audio tape, Salim Said is scheduled to be sentenced in the fraud case on October 8. Ikram Mohamed, the Feeding Our Future employee who attended and recorded the meeting, pled guilty in the case on March 28 of this year, but no date has been set for her sentencing.

Although the meeting was held at his office in Edina, Mahad Ibrahim (Def. No. 17) himself was not in attendance.

Ibrahim pled guilty on July 24, 2025. No date has been schedule for his sentencing.

Here is the status of Keith Ellison campaign donors linked to federal fraud cases:

Gandi Y. Mohamed (Ikram’s brother) pled guilty on April 9 of this year. Gandi had been indicted in January 2024, but his donation was not returned until after the tape was publishd in 2025. No date has been set for his sentencing. Liban Alishire pled guilty in January 2023. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 8 of this year.

Election Day is November 3.
