The city goes “online only” for it’s “community conversation” tomorrow (Monday) evening on recent “disturbances” due to “safety concerns.” How far are we willing to fall?

As I noted yesterday, your correspondent had pre-registered to attend the “community conversation” event set to discuss recent “disturbances” in the suburban City of Edina.

The event was to be held at the site of the most recent disturbance, Our Lady of Grace catholic church/school. I received an email a short time ago, informing all registered guests that the event was now “online only.” The City writes,

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church notified the City yesterday afternoon that it is no longer able to host the event due to concerns about campus safety and its other scheduled activities.

Now the police chief and other dignitaries will no longer need to face the public, in person. It’s as if we have returned to the Covid times.

Readers will recall that we included an Edina stop on our recent 20-city, anti-fraud summer tour. We sold tickets, we had security on hand, and we hosted over 200 people with zero incidents.

The city itself has chosen a different direction.
