Another suburban high school graduation, another incident involving guns. Late last month, it was the Wayzata High School ceremony, held at the University of Minnesota’s Mariucci hockey arena. This weekend, it was Burnsville.

KSTP reported on the incident Friday night,

Police say that nobody was injured after multiple fights and reports of gunshots at a Burnsville High School graduation ceremony Friday night.

At around 8:30 p.m., about 30 minutes after the conclusion of a graduation ceremony, there were reports of multiple altercations west of Burnsville High School.

Police officers heard and responded to reports of gunshots, while officers from several other agencies also responded.

KSTP reports on the four alleged suspects arrested at the incident,

Mike Tracy with the city of Burnsville confirmed with 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS on Saturday, the identities of the four individuals who were arrested:

  • 18-year-old Abdikani Mukhtar Abdiwahab
  • 18-year-old Abdulahi Jama Ali
  • 18-year-old Amir Mawlid Ali
  • 18-year-old Mustafe Yusuf Omar

According to Dakota County jail records, all four young men are still being held, pending an initial court appearance at noon on Monday (June 9). Each is charged with a different set of offense(s), ranging from misdemeanor, to gross misdemeanor, to multiple felonies. The charges involve a mix of trespassing and gun crimes.

Hamza Said, the 20-year-old arrested in connection with the Wayzata graduation incident, is still being held on three felony counts at the Hennepin County jail, pending a $200,000 bond. His next court date is July 2.
