Yesterday, Hussein Mohamed Farah was sentenced to 20 months (1 year, 8 months) in federal prison for his role in the Feeding Our Future fraud scandal. He was also ordered to repay $471,000.

As I noted before, Hussein served as CEO of a local nonprofit, the New Vision Foundation (NVF) and was a 2018 winner of a prestigious Bush Foundation fellowship.

Hussein had entered a guilty plea to one count of wire fraud exactly one year ago (August 2025). We are now up to 26 sentences handed down out of the 70 or so defendants convicted in the case, so far.
