Abdi Nur Salah was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison today for his role in the Feeding Our Future fraud. The U.S. Dept. of Justice (DOJ) issued this press release,

St. Paul Man Sentenced to 33 Months’ Imprisonment for Defrauding $1.6 Million in Federal Child Nutrition Program Funds as Part of the Feeding Our Future Fraud Scheme.

Until his name came up in the Feeding investigation back in early 2022, Salah served as a senior policy aide to Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

Mr. Salah has had some issues in recent months with substance abuse.

The DOJ notes that he is the 31st defendant to be sentenced in the Feeding Our Future fraud, which features 80 defendants and 69 convictions, so far. Salah also owes restitution of $1,063,255.
