Jose Alberto Ramirez, age 28, is scheduled to appear in federal court in downtown Minneapolis this afternoon faces charges of making online threats against a federal officer. Ramirez was picked up at his home in Schaumberg, IL, late last month and transferred to Minnesota, according to court filings.

According to court filings in the case, following a January 14 anti-ICE incident in Minneapolis, Ramirez (in Illinois) obtained the address and phone number of a federal agent based in Ohio, then proceeded to harass and threaten the agent and the agent’s family.

The phone number used by Ramirez was tracked to his home in Illinois, where the arrest was made late last month.

In Illinois, Ramirez has prior felony arrests, according to court records.
