A “controversial” social media influencer came to Minneapolis to headline a shambolic political event last night, one week before the election.

The anti-American, anti-semitic, dual-citizen, far-left, Turkish-American Hasan Piker headlined an all-star event at the Theater in the Round near the University of Minnesota’s West Bank campus.

FOX-9 reports,

Hasan Piker appeared in Minnesota on a podcast hosted by state Sen. Omar Fateh with U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar.

From FOX-9,

Organizers said the event, which holds about 250 seats, sold out within five minutes of being advertised.

MPR News reports that the venue only holds 245. Color me unimpressed. Your correspondent headlined a 22-stop anti-fraud, statewide tour this summer, which featured sold-out crowds exceeding that number at several locations. (Thanks for attending!)

In contrast, it appears that attendance at Piker’s Minneapolis event was free-of-charge and by invitation only.

MPR News also reports,

MPR News was invited to cover the event, then denied access at the last minute by Fateh, who said media was barred because of space concerns.

Huh. One media outlet that did obtain inside access was WCCO-4. As for the substance of the event, we turn to Fox News,

Hasan Piker lashes out at Republicans, calls them ‘terrorists’ in event with Ilhan Omar

Details,

Piker, who streams his commentary on Twitch, called Republicans “terrorists” during the event, and Omar referred to the party as the “pedophile protection party.”

They made the comments during a Q&A session led by failed Minneapolis mayoral candidate Omar Fateh.

Local Fox-9 reports on the goal for the event,

Organizers said they brought Piker to Minnesota to help mobilize voters under 40.

To that end, the event was taped at a theater near the University of Minnesota, located at 245 Cedar Avenue. Coincidentally, a “pop up” voting location was operated by the City of Minneapolis last Wednesday, one block away at the Cedar Cultural Center, 415 Cedar Avenue. The Center is adjacent to the famous Riverside Plaza apartment complex, as pictured in the photo.

MPR News adds,

Piker is a self-described democratic-socialist and popular figure with many younger progressives who feel unrepresented by the Democratic Party.

The stage shared by Piker and the two Omars (Fateh and Ilhan) may well represent the future of the Democratic Party, in Minnesota and around the nation. MPR adds,

Some Democrats, including governor hopeful U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, criticized Piker for past statements they deemed offensive and chided Omar and Fateh for appearing with someone they deem a polarizing figure on the eve of an election.

But they represent the past. In a hidden-camera moment, California Gov. Gavin Newsom was caught on video talking about the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA),

So the DSA, the energy and the desire and demand for bold change, not incremental change, is very much going to be dominant. I mean, that’s going to be a mainstream democratic movement. Absolutely. No question about that.

He’s not wrong. The future ain’t what it used to be.
