Abdikadir Mohamud, now aged 34, was sentenced to five years in federal prison and ordered to repay $3 million in restitution for his role in the Feeding Our Future fraud scandal.
Your correspondent was there this afternoon at the federal courthouse in downtown Minneapolis.
Mohamud was indicted back in 2022 as part of the Safari Restaurant group of defendants. He operated a fake-food-distribution site in Willmar. In a personal note, it was mentioned in court today that Mohamud had previously served 4 years in the U.S. Navy.
