Legislative Update

Dear friends and neighbors,

I am happy to share with you what has been going on at the Capitol this week. Unfortunately, we got a Supreme Court decision back late last week that did not go in our favor, which was disappointing. It also means that we cannot conduct official business with 67 members, and Democrats are still boycotting, so we are at a standstill. I have been staying busy with constituent meetings and learning a lot from experts and professionals who have visited.

Updates from the Capitol

I had many great meetings this week, with groups both in our district and here in St. Paul.

Pictured below on the left, myself and Representative Dave Baker visited the Neighborhood Development Center (NDC) in St. Paul. They are an organization focused on training business entrepreneurs in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota.

Pictured below on the right, I had the pleasure of meeting with superintendents from our district. As a lifelong educator, it is very important to me that we address the issues that we are facing in our schools.

I was also able to meet with both Blooming Prairie and Austin utilities as we entertained many conversations about energy this past week.
