That was the message today from U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, who flew to St. Cloud, Minnesota, today for an event on Medicaid and other frauds in the state.
When asked the question, why Minnesota? Why St. Cloud? The answer didn’t get into any specifics, but Bessent mentioned federal law enforcement’s interest in the St. Cloud area and the state’s rank as leading the nation in per capita fraud.
Bessent was joined by FBI Director Kash Patel, Dr. Oz, and other high-ranking federal officials to discuss the ongoing fight against fraud in Minnesota.

A representative of the Dept. of Justice announced new felony fraud cases involving five recently charged defendants and $49 million in stolen taxpayer money. Those cases are in addition to those involved in the 17 search warrants that were executed yesterday by the FBI and other federal agencies across the state.
