Said Shafii Farah was sentenced to 6-and-a-half years (78) in federal prison for his role in the attempted juror bribery incident which occurred during his 2024 federal fraud trail in the Feeding Our Future scandal.

He was also fined $40,000, which was due immediately. Your correspondent was there this morning at the federal courthouse in downtown St. Paul. The district’s Chief Judge, Eric Tostrud, delivered the sentence.
Ironically, Farah was acquitted on all charges at the conclusion of the trial, which continued on without the target juror. The juror (known as Juror #52) called the cops immediately upon coming home and discovering the Hallmark gift bag containing the $120,000 meant for her. She was excused from the case and jury deliberations began without her.

In the underlying fraud case, Farah was on trial along with six co-defendants associated with the now-closed Empire Cuisine market in Shakopee.

Farah will get credit for the 2-and-a-half years he has served in jail since the juror bribery plot was uncovered during the trial in April 2024.
